Knew my name and address, claimed to be my domestic appliance insurer - I have no such insurance! When I asked if they had checked whether my number was registered with TPS ( which it is) they just terminated the call. Clearly a scam, never understand why TPS does not deal with these calls. The history on this site indicates they have been active for a long time.

Rang my mother under the pretext that they could reduce her monthly DD but spoke too quickly for her to understand what they were saying. She took their phone number and said she would get me (her son) to call them back. I went onto the internet to see that the phone number had already been shown to be a scam.

Rang me asking if I was homeowner. I said what’s it got to do with you. She replied it’s about your attic insulation. I told her in no uncertain terms she was a scam caller, don’t ring again, and cut her off. Also, she was not a young woman.

Claimed to be a company that we have signed up to for "support". Knew our surname and address. I asked for the code word we had "set up" with them. First he said he didn't know what I was talking about and then said it was only required sometimes!!!! These people are telling outright lies so beware, whatever they say.

Dangerous to older people like myself, I told her I didn't understand what she was telling me but she kept repeating herself so I handed my phone to my Granddaughter and she dealt with her by saying I didn't have any of what she was talking about and put the phone down ,Older people should be very aware of this call number.

Domestic Appliance scam - they've been calling me three times a day, asking for my dead mother. They seem really surprised when I point out that I am not going to fall for their scam and question how I know they are scammers. They claim never to have called me previously and pretend to ask their colleagues who called me yesterday.

Rang at 8 am asking for the policy holder of my appliances. Told them I don't have any to which the call turned nasty. Told me my appliances must be old and that when they catch fire they would laugh as it would be my own fault. Put phone down on them. Have had 6 more calls with just dead air.

Phoned today. Excellent English but with a foreign accent. Knew my name. Telling me as I had not made any call outs for12 months I could get a reduction on my Insurance. Told them I had individual policies with the retailers and they shouldn’t be contacting me as I was TPS registered. I hung up

Caller who did not identify himself tried to obtain my identity. Of course I did not identify myself. Never in any circumstance give a cold caller any information that will identify you or any account that you may have.

As I did not recognise the number calling I did not answer. Caller display is very helpful. If it was a legitimate call I would have expected the caller to leave a message saying who they were and why they were calling. No message left so I assume that I avoided listening to their SCAM message. Seeing the other comments it seems I was correct.

Had my name and address details. Claimed to be company which I do have household protection . Offering me a discount as no claims. Then asked for my bank details so they could change direct debit. Got quite aggressive when I called them out on the scam.

The caller knew my name and address. She wanted to talk about insurance for home appliances. I explained that I did not believe in such insurance. She then said that my appliances were probably a fire risk! I told her that this was an unsolicited telephone call - despite my number being registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). When she simply continued with her blurb about home appliances, I told her to remove my number from their system and hung up. AVOID

SCAMMERS. Unfortunately while I have blocked calls from them bvefore, they just call using a slightly different number. I have told them before that an ethical company would respect the Telephone Preference Service registration but they just ignore it. In this instance, I asked them to hold on a moment then stuck the phone in front of a speaker playing Motorhead very loudly. Funnily enough there was no-one there when I went back a minute later!

Called saying you haven’t had a visit in the past year and we would like to give you discount because of this. I said this was incorrect as I’d had a visit recently, but he still went in and proceeded to ask if I managed my own finances, at which stage I put the phone down!

Kicked off with a casual how ya doin usin my first name like we were buds then dove straight into tryin to snag details for some scheme but it screamed fake from the greetin alone.
