Current protections don't work

Blocking known numbers only goes so far & listing yourself on the TPS doesn't deter the real criminals. So with your help, we're building our own auto-block list & giving callers a warning that we're recording their conversation before they're connected.

Having human backup

Sometimes we all need assurance & we provide that with the Trusted Person feature within CallGuard. Friends or family can be alerted when suspicious words are used during a call & can join in if needed.

Isolation & loneliness can shorten your lifespan by 15 years, meaning maintaining a safe home phone lifeline is essential. So if your VoIP & Wi-Fi connection is lost, the Trusted Person will be alerted so they can check that all is well.

Awards and recognition

In July 2026, Phonely was named winner of the Digital Inclusion Award at the AbilityNet Tech4Good Awards, announced at a ceremony hosted by IBM in London. Founded in 2011 by the digital accessibility charity AbilityNet, the awards have previously recognised innovations such as Be My Eyes and What3Words, and celebrate technology designed with people in mind.

The judges said: "Phonely is a phone-based service that helps protect people from scams. It is designed for older people and others who may be more exposed to fraud or less confident using digital tools. It is a winner because it combines simple access with real protection, using thousands of scam reports to make the service stronger over time."

Phonely has also been recognised with the "Most Innovative Small Business" award, is Cyber Essentials Plus certified, and is trusted by Police Forces across the UK, Trading Standards, Friends Against Scams and Neighbourhood Watch.
