Called today telling about a blocking device for nuisance calls I said yeah like yours!! She said sorry? I said yeah nuisance calls like yours! Will it block you? Then she hung up on me.

Calls from this number must be avoided. T he caller knewmy name and post code and i did not confirm the details. They said a device would be sent in post to block nuisance calls wich ironically includes this call. Ichalleged them askking who they w ere representing and why after 30 years if having a landline its tge first time i have been contacted. I also asked why no paperwork has come before the call and he didnt understand my question. To end the call i asked three times who is funding this service and he just went silent. He asked did i want to sign up and i said no he then sighed and ended the call. Advice is to put the phone down imnediately and do not bother engaging with these evil devious people

This number 0203 807 3835 rang me wanting to send me a device to block nuisance calls. I regret giving confirming my name and address. They failed to answer what organisation or phone number they were ringing from. I am concerned that the 'device' will now come with some attempt to charge me.

A person called Bob called today offering protection on landline from unwanted calls. He already knew my name, address and postcode. I said I wasn’t interested..already registered with TPS. Not deterred he said he would send me…..at this point I said “No thankyou..I’m not interested” and rang off.

Woman rang who knew my first name & said it was concerning my landline. I told her l didn't have one, which she challenged. I said it used to be a landline but Virgin media switched it to work via broadband. She the said "So you do have a landline then". I said no, it works through my broadband. She slammed the phone down. I found her tone rude & condescending. I hink she expected a pensioner to be ready to con. Warn all your elderly relatives.As the identical number has contacted other people claiming to be Age UK and other organisations, it is obviously a scam. As it seems to operate out of UK including Ireland, the police should take action.

Like the other comments, "Dave" said he was from BT and checked with me that I was the bill payer, checked my telephone number and post code was correct and knew I was a pensioner and offered me reduced block calling for a one off time payment from £379 to £159. I said no thank you and he asked why, was it because the payment unaffordable. I said I did not want or need it.

My elderly parents were contacted by this number pretending to be from Age UK. I have told them it was a scam and to always say no thanks not interested when receiving a call from someone they don’t know or aren’t expecting

Said they were from our phone provider , knew name and address. Said updating nuisance call blocking. Said paperwork would be here in a few days. Asked if we were pensioners and would be eligible for a discount. Quoted £375 but said it was discounted to £179. I said we couldn’t afford it and I said I’d wait for paperwork to arrive as I already suspected this was a scam. She then hung up. This number should be investigated by police.

Lady saying from BT. And told me BT was upgrading dealing with nuisance calls. She knew my full name and my post code which I said were “ correct” then she said can you hear me, I said “ correct” and she repeated the question again so I repeated “correct”. She seemed to have been trying to get me to say “yes” so I purposely did not. She then hung up. I don’t trust anyone on the phone offering things I haven’t asked for.

Said they were sending me the call blocker in the post- knew all my personal information but when asked if there was a cost involved she closed the conversation - claimed was from BT initially

I received a call from the above number on Friday 30th at 14.17. They had my name, address and post code. She told me the paperwork would arrive in a few days and it would guard us against scams and nuisance calls. She asked if we were pensioners and said we would get the pensioner discount. I then asked how much we would be expected to pay and she replied £179. Since we had never asked for this I put the phone down.

Claimed to be calling from UK Call Security, ironically, offering a service to block unwanted calls! Interestingly they knew my name and address. I hung up before the part when they would undoubtedly have wanted some bank details. Scam! Avoid!

Claiming from UK Call Guard offering discounted rate for pensioners. Said posting paperwork I said I'd look forward but it sounded fake. Blocked.

Claimed sending a call blocker to stop nuisance calls. Asked if I was the bill payer then I hung up. Didn't recognise the number but looks scam so blocked. Another time said from call security my blocker is coming. Asked cost as pensioner one off fee or something. Suspicious.
