Came up as suspected spam so didn't answer phone, but probably what one of the commenters has said - probably safe as could be the IFF research people on behalf of the DWP which I have received emails informing me about it.

I received a call from 02037698877 around 7:45pm and were saying that he is doing a survey for some colleges and he was asking me about my course in the college. I wonder how did he know about my name and the course I am doing!

Called claiming to do a survey fir dWP, strong injun accent, hard to make out what he was saying. Wanted to know if I was employed or self employed, I told hm if he was working for DWP, he'd already know that. Some sort of phishing expedition?

I've had 2 calls now from this number purporting to be from the Information Commissioners carrying out a survey on GDPR and data protection. I have been busy both times and they ask when they can phone back. They are going to phone again next week but, having seen the other comments here, I will tell them goodbye!

On other similar to this sites, some commenters said the callers were from DWP, or Food Standards, HMRC with ISA questions... Looks like it's either a scammer fishing for information or some company doing surveys on behalf of the government. One comment below said they "called him at 8.22pm. Doubt any civil servant is working that late."

To the person marking it as "Safe" below my comment. So what they've been sending letters about it? Scammers know about it that's why they pretend to be HMRC. Unless the letter from HMRC contains this number then it might be genuine.

It's not a scam people! A) they've been sending letters about this.
