Skipped through an intro which was inaudible then asked to confirm if she was speaking to Mrs X. I sad no. I asked who she was and she said "British Gas" and asked again for confirmation of a name which was, unfortunately for them, our house name. As soon as I corrected her she hung up. It is, undoubtedly, a scam.

Caller asked rudely for my name then hung up straight after. Not normal behaviour.

Claimed to be from British Gas. Wanted to take all my details to make a gas meter change, as the existing meter was sending inaccurate readings. My meter is not a smart meter. Told them I was busy, and asked them to call back later. I realised it was a reasonably sophisticated scam, as the number even came up on my phone as 03332 029 470 British Gas. I have blocked the number and reported it to you.

Scam. Do not tell them anything. They call you when you access your bank account and request text code or callback and then try to get info out of you. Block the number

claim to be British Gas, and my meter is not working. could see in the app that my meter was fine. phoned BG, who confirmed the meter was working fine and the call was not them.

Said he needed to change my meters to new ones cos they were old out of date and faulty. It’s a scam , because my meters are brand new. They try to get my address, avoid, defo a scam!!!

Rang, foreign accent, claimed from Brit Gas re Smart meter not sending readings; wanted to make an appointment to replace it... It's not a Smart meter! Fishing for address & other details. 100% SCAM !!

So far, this number has rung me twice: last night at 19.45 and today at 15.30. On both occasions, I let the phone ring itself out.

Second time this week I’ve been called from this number. I let the call ring out on both occasions. Whoever was calling didn’t leave a message. Not a number I recognise, I suspect it’s a scam

Call was blocked as spam, answerphone message they left was an extremely garbled call centre in an unknown language (not English). Sounded like they were calling from Pluto because the line /background noise was so bad.

Foreign sounding person did not give his name but claimed to be from British Gas & insisted forcefully that he wanted to set an appointment to change our gas meter which he claimed was more than 2 years old and obsolete. He wanted to ask a few questions but cut off when we asked questions of him.
