Have rung up on multiple occasions, saying they are from EDF and that our meter reading and that our meter needs changing. Asking for multiple details and for previous bills so they could work out how much of a refund we are owed. They apparently don't have access to our bills which is all very suspicious.
Have blocked the number as will not stop calling. Clearly a scam of some description.

Had 3 calls from this number claiming to be octopus energy and wanting to replace meters and get meter readings, did not entertain them and they hung up.

Woman calling claiming to be Smartest Energy (my provider) and needing a meter reading. Then claiming that my readings are showing an increase of over 100% and they need to replace my meter. Told them I would contact my supplier directly and assess any problems (there are no problems, I read my meter monthly). She sounded stunned and hung up.

Foreign accent calling from Halifax area on a Saturday. Saying he wanted meter readings as smart meter not working properly. Thing is my gas smart meter is not working but he wanted electricity also. I asked him for my gas meter number and he even knew that! These calls are almost daily at the moment.

Barely understandable foreign person claiming to be EDF. I hung up and he called straight back saying something about needing to get the meter reading. Didn't seem very happy when I told him I will read the meter and submit it online therefore I did not need to continue this conversation. 10th December today and the scammers are ramping up their efforts, had 5 other call today and still only 10.30!! 😡

They claimed to be from Smart and my meter was not sending correctly and wanted to change the meter. kept insisting on mobile numbers. passed me to manager and I hung up as they were asking for private mobile numbers

They said they were calling from the new meter department of YU Energy. I had a meter installed about 2 weeks ago. They even knew my MPAN number! Phoned YU energy and they confirmed it was a scam

Could hardly understand him - very pronounced foreign accent. Guessed it was a scam and not British Gas - he phoned me back when I put the phone down! Asked him to put everything re meter details in email as he said he had all my details - never emailed.

Totally unable to understand. pronounced foreign with a lisp. Very persistent, but calm - has phoned several times, re meter reading and replacement meter. Didn't talk money except that entitled to a refund. Booked replacement meter twice , but no show so have researched and find this is a scam - ignore 01422525609 - mob 07428524510 given - did ring but said S&Y Utilities , and no reply. Do not talk to him, he will annoy you straight away!

Phones 4 to 5 times a day asking for meter readings and then saying my meter is faulty and are coming to change it over and gonna give me credit of £450 .... they call morning noon and night and always foreign accents - maybe African ? Very distressing and harassing

Rang from 01422 525 609 and asked for metre reading. When I asked could I call them back as I wasn't near metre, they gave me 0161 710 5548. When I asked why it was a different number he became rude and demanded to know what my position was in the company. When I refused, he challenged me and hung up.
