Wanted to speak to Business Owner so gave no details, but they did know my energy supplier. Octopus usually communicate via email so I was suspicious. We're insistent on getting callback time to speak to owner.

Same as the above. Except they said they were from Smartest Energy. I nearly fell for it too, thankfully I checked the number online and when they called back I gave them an absolute barrel full. Be careful out there guys...

They called us saying they were calling from Scottish Power to advise us that our charges were going up within 24 hours, and that we needed to agree to it on the recorded phone call before they would send an email to confirm anything. Very persistent on the phone but we hung up as seemed very suspicious.

Do not answer calls from this number, it's an energy scam. I unfortunately fell for it the first time and it has caused all sorts of issues, they are very convincing and know your energy account number etc...Always say no thank you and call your energy company back directly to confirm. They will most likely tell you your tariff is changing and will cost you more.
