A call from Sky asking if I had problems with the service. I asked her - non-English accent, heavily accented from East Asia - a few questions and she hung up: a scam

Caller phoned saying they were from Sky saying they were offering me a discount - didn’t believe them so hung up and called sky. They said Jo one had tried to contact me

Two days ago I received a phone call purporting to be from O2. 'Something to do with the Nationwide Building Society taking over savings accounts with Virgin Media.' I was already suspicious about the genuineness of the call, because (a) O2 don't call me, they send texts, and (b) the caller's number came up as a mobile one. The caller informed me that I would be receiving a new SIM card.
I asked her to tell me my name, but she thought she'd get away with reciting the last few digits of my phone number. So I hung up. I instantly got her calling me back on a landline, crossly asking me if I had hung up on her. So I said I had. Why? She asked. She again refused to tell me my name. So I hung up again and rang the real O2 on 202 to report my suspicions.
After some security checks, the agent justified my doubts by confirming that O2 had not contacted me since their text on 2 November.
