Feature: Live Call Joining

Get Support During Your Call With Live Call Joining

You don't have to handle calls that become uncomfortable all by yourself. Your Trusted Person is just a #9 away. Of course, they may pre-empt you and join you after a CallGuard alert.

It's your choice

Prevent yourself from becoming a victim.

Help is ok

It's ok to ask your Trusted Person for help, it's what they are there for. Rest assured that they would rather step into one of your calls than see you become a victim of a scam.

Hanging up is ok

If you feel uncomfortable on a call or find it suspicious, it's ok to end it as soon as you can. If you're concerned it's rude, don't be. Any genuine caller will understand, those who don't, are what you suspected.

Not answering is ok

If you're called by an unknown number you don't have to answer it. In fact, if you know it's spam, just leave it. Answering will confirm there's a person is attached to your number to target. Do be aware though that some NHS numbers are withheld.

Invited or Alerted, Your Trusted Person Can Join Any Call

There's strength in numbers and scammers won't stand a chance with two (or more) against one on their call.

Feel courageous with CallGuard.

Live call joining invites

If a call is making you uncomfortable, or something doesn't feel right then press #9 on your keypad to invite your Trusted Person to help you. The caller will know that someone is joining, which may be all they need to hang up.

Suspicious activity alert

As soon as you pick up a withheld or international call, your Trusted Person will get an alert. They will be notified should you be on a call for an unusual period of time (set by you). Alerts allow for your Trusted Person to listen back to the exact recording & investigate further.

Live call joining

This gives your Trusted Person (someone you trust, such as a family member) the option to join a call they've received a live alert for. They can join quietly in a muted mode, without either participant knowing they're listening. At any point, they can unmute themselves to speak or step in if needed.

With most people not realising they've been scammed until after the fact, this is a powerful way to prevent harm before the call ends. It's ideal for protecting vulnerable people — for example, when family members want to look out for older parents who may be too trusting.

The wider benefits of call invite

When the concept of call invite first came about it was meant solely for getting our customers out of sticky scammy situations. But as time went on, we all realised that it could be used in many situations.

Sometimes when you are dealing with insurance companies or utilities, and the like, their jargon can be all too confusing. If you're trying to make a claim or switch companies, it sometimes pays to have someone listen in or even take over the conversation for you. How many times have you wished you'd asked a certain question, or regretted making a quick decision? Pressing #9 and inviting your Trusted Person to listen in or take part in your conversation will make dealing with your accounts a lot less stressful. So think about that next time you make a claim on your home insurance or want to cancel a policy.
