Caller pretended to be from McAfee and requested personal information. Also sent an email about a fake bill.

Received an email this morning informing me of an McAfee subscription invoice due from my Paypal account and this freephone number to call to cancel it. Call the number and they said my account was being used by someone else in Germany. Quite alarmed about that. The assured me that no money would be taken and asked what account was linked. The email has since disappeared from my inbox. Quite worried now.

They pretended to be dealing with a PayPal issue and some sort of subscription I do not have. They even got a code to send by text which made it even more suspicious.

The call went on long enough for them to push for personal information and claim there was something urgent about an account I do not even use. They try to sound convincing but it falls apart quickly because nothing they say matches my details. It seems part of a wider pattern of people trying to trick users with made up payment issues so I blocked it right away. (200+ characters)
