Young English female, all chirpy and what-not, introduced herself and said she was calling to discuss my contract with a mobile phone provider I left 20 years ago. I hung up. I called back, later, on a burner phone. A young English female answered. Said I was calling her back after a missed call and she went straight in to a script about my phone network. Never mentioned or asked the network. Asked if I could confirm if I was ‘employed’ or ‘self employed. I replied “yes”. She rephrased the question. I said I was employed and she said “Great, you qualify for our discounted rate”. She puts me through to another department, who answered immediately, in a similar office environment with background noise. Young English male. He waffled on, from a script, still not mentioning the network. Said “Grwat, I can see that you qualify for a 50% off sim contract and expected me to sign up with him, over the phone. Absolute chancers!
