Just called about pipes and drainage cover and that it needed renewing. I asked where and she gave my home address. I said we didn't have cover or need it and she hung up.

Phone call 5 mins ago and asked me if i wanted to renew my drains and water insurance. Told her we don't have that insurance and never have - she said we started in FEBRUARY and the 3 years were up now (think she needs to check her dates) obviously I hung up

As with the other reports. Very believable lady advising me i purchased a one off insurance policy through Home Choice UK via south east water and it had expired. The policy covered my drainage and pipes, asked me if i had any issues during this time and then asked me to renew the policy. I asked them to send me details of the contract which they stated they "didn't do any longer" and they would give me one month free and only needed my bank account and sort code. Asked how i was supposed to sign an insurance policy with no contact or terms and conditions. She said she would read these over the phone. immediate alarm bells started ringing and i told her this was very concerning so she hung up,

Just called me claiming they were Affinity water and that my outdoor pipes emergency cover I’ve had for 3 years has expired. Told them I didn’t have it. They said I took out the policy during covid. Anyhow I told them to put something in writing and that my husband pays the bills so would need to run it by him first. They hung up. Scammers! I called Affinity to report them.

Called claiming to be renewing a policy for drainage coverage I didn't know I had. He said I'd been paying it for three years and had initially taken it out through United utilities. When I asked for copies of policy details he said he'd have to renew the policy to do that. Wanting to set up a direct debit. When I asked to complain and for my policy number he reeled off the numbers really fast and then hung up when I tried to get a pen to write them down.

Rang with quite a bit of detail about me. Wanting to renew my pipes and drainage cover. Wanting my bank sort code. I was driving at the time. They arranged to call me back, by then i had a chance to think. My cover automatically renews. When he rang back he said he was with Home Cover Uk through water authorities. I challenged him and said it didn’t ring true and asked him to put the papers in the post. He promptly hung up.

Claimed to act on behalf of Anglia Water and tried to get my bank details. Definitely a scam.
