Phonely wins AbilityNet Tech4Good Digital Inclusion Award
We’re proud to share some exciting news.
On Friday, Phonely won the Digital Inclusion Award at the AbilityNet Tech4Good Awards 2026. The award recognises our work helping people stay connected, stay safe from scams and navigate the UK’s transition to digital landlines with confidence.
Winning the Digital Inclusion Award is a huge achievement for our team. More importantly, it recognises the positive difference we aim to make every day.
What is the AbilityNet Tech4Good Award?
The AbilityNet Tech4Good Awards celebrate organisations that use technology to improve people’s lives.
AbilityNet has championed digital inclusion and accessibility for more than 25 years. Every year, it recognises charities, businesses and innovators whose technology creates a positive social impact.
This year, we were honoured to stand alongside so many inspiring finalists. Winning the Digital Inclusion Award made the day even more special.

Why Phonely was recognised
When AbilityNet announced the winners, it described Phonely as a service that “combines simple access with real protection.”
The judges recognised our work helping older people and others who may be more vulnerable to fraud or less confident using digital technology.
They also highlighted how our protection becomes stronger over time by using thousands of scam reports submitted by members of the public.

Today, more than 8,000 households across the UK trust Phonely with their home phone service.

Why digital inclusion matters
The UK’s telephone network is changing.
Millions of households are moving from traditional analogue phone lines to digital landlines. Many people will adapt quickly. However, others may find the change unfamiliar or even worrying.
We believe digital inclusion is about far more than introducing new technology.
It’s about helping people feel confident using it. It’s about making technology easier to understand, easier to use and easier to trust.
That’s why we designed Phonely around the home phone people already know.
Customers can keep their existing phone number. They can continue using the handset they’ve relied on for years. At the same time, they benefit from modern features such as automatic scam call blocking, call screening and trusted contact support.
Our goal is simple. We want every customer to feel confident about the move to digital landlines.

We’re incredibly grateful to AbilityNet, the judging panel and everyone involved in organising such a fantastic event.
We’d also like to thank our customers. Your feedback, encouragement and ideas help shape everything we do.

Looking ahead
Winning the Digital Inclusion Award isn’t the finish line. It’s motivation to keep improving.
The UK’s move to digital landlines will continue over the coming months. We’ll continue developing services that help people stay connected, stay protected and feel confident using their home phone.
We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far. However, we’re even more excited about what comes next.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey so far.
